Bio

The latest addition to the DUKES line-up is trombonist, Wes Anderson. Born in Atlanta and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the son of jazz great, Wes Anderson III, young Wes attended Florida State University jazz camp in the summers to study under Marcus Roberts. After Hurricane Katrina, his father who was performing Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, moved the family East Lansing, Michigan where the elder Anderson taught jazz at Michigan State. Following high school, Wes attended Northern Illinois University to study under Ron Carter for his music performance degree, then to UNO in New Orleans to study under Delfeayo Marsalis and to play with such bands as Allen Toussaint, Pretty Lights, the New Orleans Swamp Donkeys, and Crescent City Soul. Wes joined the DUKES of Dixieland in March, 2017.
