We had two great performances for the French Quarter Festival (Jackson Square stage) and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage festival (Economy Hall stage). The later was broadcast by WWOZ live and recorded into a live CD entitled, "DUKES of Dixieland, 40th Anniversary, Live New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, 2014" We feature some early Louis Armstrong and forge into VOODOO territory with Marie Laveau and I put a Spell on you.
This was a particularly great festival year because the weather was mild and the rain stayed away on all festival dates! The Friday performances are generally the best day because the crowds are much lighter. My favourite lunch item annually is the BBQ Rib with white beans and cole slaw. This year I tried and loved the quail and pheasant Gumbo!! YUM.
